No heat hair care!

Alot of people, friends and strangers, ask me how i take care of my burgundy coloured hair. The answer: high maintenance. The most important part to me is that there is NO HEAT! Because as my whole head was bleached before the red was put through, and heat will make it even more fragile. I reduce the amount i use my hot styling tools as much as possible.

No hot tools mean: Cutting down on hair dryer, curler, and hair straightener use.

A few essential tools for NO HEAT hair care:
1. Rollers
2. Hair dryer with COOL SETTING! Thats the only setting you should use. (Unless you are in a hurry, then use heat).
3. Diffuser with spikes

You will also need the essential, leave in conditioner, or whichever product works for you best.

These tools will help me achieve straight, and wavy hair, with no heat.

These are foam rollers. You can also use velcro rollers, but i find that they tend to straighten out the hair as you pull them out.

This is a diffuser. You attach to the end of your hair dryer. If your hair dryer didnt come with one, you can find a universal one that will fit.

Left to right: Nak moroccan aroma oil, Nak repl.ends conditioning mousse.
Ive been using these alot lately. I find theyre all i need to condition my hair, with out it getting heavy and sticky from products.

Nake repl.ends conditioning foam moisturising mousse. It also has excellent hold. Make sure you shake the bottle. You only need a very small squirt because the foam will expand in your hand.
After putting this through towel dried hair, time to style!

For straight hair, we go straight to the hair dryer. You need to attatch the diffuser to you hair dryer and comb though your hair with the diffuser spikes while drying it. Make sure youre only using cool setting.

For wavy hair, wrap your hair around the foam curlers and twist to secure in place. I like to then spritz them with another moisture spray. This conditions, leaves a nice shine, and also dampens the hair for tighter curls. But this is completely optional. Leave in for however long you want. Theres no need to sleep overnight in it. Take out carefully. And use diffuser to catch the bottom of your locks, and twist the diffuser head to twist the hair with it. Remember, cool setting!

I then use Nak moroccan aroma oil (not more than 1 drop!) and spread it in my palms. Then lightly comb through locks with fingers for more moisture, and most importantly, shine, texture and smell!

Here is the finished result! Photo credit to Aidan Jamison.

Im sorry this is very hard to explain. Maybe i will repost later with more photos of the process. Or maybe even a video, if anyone is interested in more detail! Let me know!
