Satchel matching

Ive been so excited about my new satchels that ive decided to do a post on them already. Ive been wearing them EVERYWHERE. They simply match with everything (either the red or yellow). So far, im loving them equally, but perhaps leaning more towards my yellow satchel. Ive already got a ridiculous amount of red in my wardrobe cause my favourite colours are shades of red, especially burgundy. (I also like cherry red, maroon, electric blue, canary yellow, i really love brown - its NOT a dull colour! And also burnt orange, turquoise/teal, navy, grey.... the list goes on. The only colour i dont really like is green. I think its because everytime i wear green it clashes horribly with my red hair and i look like an ugly christmas coloured leprechaun.
This satchel is the first piece of canary yellow i have in my wardrobe and im loving it. Especially since this season is all about pops of colour and really bright, electric colours. Heels made of of suede leather in blue, yellow, orange, etc. And coloured shorts like yellow and red, which is awesome because i already have a few of those.
The bag actually looks a little bit big on me. I wouldnt get a bag bigger than 13inch... especially in satchel style.
This is the 13 inch classic yellow cambridge satchel. Can be found here.
Heres a better angle of my bag! Im wearing a blouse i picked up from a market at uni, and my mums old levi jeans cut up.
My hair was done with no heat (as i have done for this whole year), I used 4 large curlers on dry hair before bed. Not using any additional products.
Because the curlers and large, and my hair was put in dry, this gave a really loose natural wave, but it tends to drop really quickly.
Lately my hair routine has consisted of: wash hair every 2 days using de lorenzo cherry red shampoo and condioner of terax creama. I leave both products in my hair for a good 3-4 minutes while im in the shower because i want my hair to absorb as much of the product as possible before i wash it out. Then i leave it in a small towel for about an hour while i finish the rest of my skin care regime, and then i use nak leave in conditioning mousse and a wide toothed brush. Then i blow dry on COOL setting for about 5-10 minutes, and then leave the rest to dry naturally! Or chuck in the curlers. Its pretty simply nowadays. You cant really see my colour in the photos anyway :( I blame lightroom.
Im smitten with this bag :3 Isnt the pop of colour GORGEOUS???
Even though im wearing all different colours, they are all neutral except for the bag. Im loving neutral palettes right now, and i always try to incorporate a pop of colour somewhere..
Heres an extra outfit. Double bow outfit. I decided im going to return the box bag and get myself a pair of loafers instead.
So i thought id put together a quick outfit with the bag before it was gone!
Ive gone for neutral palettes again... I feel like they would work well for spring, summer and autumn.
Im wearing a thrifted cue pussy bow tank, paperbag shorts in brown from lolitta. Headband is from myer.
My bag is pretty cool, but nothing compared to my satchels, hence it has to go...

BTW i have like a GAZILLION shoots lined up for after exams!!! Look forward to posting those... right now i have nothing to post but this crap lol.

Retail therapy

This is what happens when it comes to exam time.
My second cambridge satchel arrived in the mail yesterday. So exciting. I got it shipped from a store called Davidmetnicole in sydney.
I got home from work to see this lovely big package awaiting me :)
Its like pass the parcel! First layer, paper and wrapped with a ribbon.
Bubble wrap! Im going to popping all the bubbles for the next few days now...
Tada! Beautiful satchel. I was worried about the colour not being the same as the photographs ive seen, but its absolutely perfect and ive already worn it out twice!
I wouldnt get anything bigger than a 13inch though, this already looks pretty big on me.

Steph chilling at uni.
Today me and my mum went on a MASSIVE cosmetic haul. She works in the city and has this corporate card to access a shop where all the makeup is discounted to ridiculous prices.
If you dont know, Estee Lauder owns MAC, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, etc.... a whole shit load of top makeup brands.
They have a store in the city where all the over production products go. The prices are incredible. Some of my stuff was only $10 when its like 50-60 in the shops. I cant believe i used to pay full price... Never again! Though ill probably never get to go again, it was a once off, they are incredibly tight with ID and security and its really restricted. Only certain corporate people can shop there and i had a pass for one day with my lovely mum...
Clinique is one of my all time favourite makeup brands. So i nearly went nuts when i saw all the prices.
I already have a huge clinique collection. But today i also got: almost powder makeup spf 15, supermoisture makeup, clarifying lotion no 2, black honey cream eyeliner, all about eyes, chubby stick (my second one now), clinique eye palette, blended face powder transperency 3, superdefence moisturizer spf 15 and turnaround concentrate.
From bobbi brown (they are more expensive), i got: tinted moisturizer spf 15, violet gel eyeliner (bb eyeliner is one of the best in the market), cream blush tint (i rarely wear blush - i can never get it even). And theres also a bobbi brown eyeshadow palette in that photo, but its not new.
I dislike MAC greatly because i hate the retail staff and in store experience. They are incredibly snobby and rude and accused me of wanting to steal thier product recipe's once, when i asked what the ingredients in their products were. Ridiculous.
I only got one MAC product, which was a mineral moisturizer, but i also use MAC prep + prime... unfortunately its the best on the market. Ill be restocking soon. Its really expensive but lasts a long time. I dont even wear makeup much. I used to wear it to uni, and work. But now i dont need to wear it to work, and cbf wearing it to uni. Its just a hassle. So i dunno when ill ever wear all this stuff...

I only got such a huge amount of stuff because ill never get good quality makeup for $10 ever again. Im pretty sure this haul will last me for years though...
I will reveiw my bags after exams. And i MIGHT reveiw my new makeup. Probably not seeing as most of you reading are guys, and therefore uninterested :P

Oh, by the way. Matt graduated! Finally! Yay!

 Rocking the graduation robes.
Me and Matt having a beer at Sir Johns Bar at Clayton. (I hadnt eaten anything the whole day, so i rocked up slightly tipsy to my next class lol.)
Of course i had to do a typical graduation "tossing hat" photo.
 Twirly matt
Me wearing matts graduation hat and: a polka dot shift dress, flats, belt and my new RED satchel! I think my yellow satchel bag would have matched better, but it hadnt arrived at that point.

BAGS. Sorry for the spam.

I GOT MY CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL YAY.
I got is second hand for $100. Which is awesome because it would have cost me something like 150 plus 20 bucks shipping to get is from the company. Not to mention 6 months waiting! :(
I did pay 165 for my yellow satchel though... but its brand new and bigger and being shipped from sydney. Cant wait to receive it.
None of the photos are colour graded, to depict thier true colours.
You can see the previous persons scuff marks on the left buckle.
Its really good quality. I was worried because they were SO many unhappy customers on the Cambridge Satchel Comapnys facebook. People said some of them had loose stitching, marks and scratches on inside and outside, crookedness, etc because they are hand made in UK and 100% british leather. Not to mention everyone was pissed that it was taking so long for them to get thier satchels.
Youd think 11inches is alot of space... but the leather is really hard and not stretchy at all. My 11 inch satchel fits an A5 notebook perfectly. I can also squeeze in my purse, and probably a few pens. I can also put my phone and chapstick in the extra pocket. All my uni essentials :)
Pretty feminine bag. Ive left the tag along in case i decide to return it... I think its a bit too girly for me.
That said i really like the style of this bag. Its a box!

It fits an A5 book perfectly, plus my purse, phone and chapstick.

I just want to take a moment to explain that im not a crazy shopper... I dont always spend so much money! I think ive said it before, but ill say it again. Exam stress makes me either binge eat or binge shop. And out of the two, i think id prefer to binge shop because into fashion anyway. (Last exam period i ate an entire tin of milo powder. Not even kidding).
Also i havent bought any new clothes or anything for like 6 months!
Anyway, ill do a review on the yellow satchel when it arrives.

SQUEEEEEEE!!!!

So ive had cambridge satchels on my wish list for about a year now. And i always thought i would just get one in time for summer. But then after a bit of research into the company, i discovered the horrible news that it takes almost 6 months for the handmade satchels to arrive on your doorstep! This means i pretty much wouldn't get my bags till next winter if i ordered now! So ever since, ive been searching high and low for aussie retailers, second hand satchels, anywhere that i can get it from immediately. I really want these for the summer!
Im after a: red 11inch, and yellow 13inch.
After three days hard work searching and calling and emailing in desperation, i managed to get a second hand red 11inch, and a yellow 13inch shipped to me from a sydney store!!!!
I just got off the phone with the people at Davidmetnicole and the yellow satchel was thier absolute last one!
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I dont know where that word comes from, but im seeing it all over facebook.
Sort of like squealing in glee? Get it? Squeal + Glee = Squee?
Ah dear god im so lame.

Red 11inch (not with me yet - will be collecting this afternoon)
Yellow 13inch (will be coming later this week!!!)

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Now i can go back to concentrating on study? Probably not.... ive got alot of online shopping arriving in the mail this and next week. Exam stress makes me do silly things. Like spend money on the internet :S

I will review them when both arrive safely with me :)

Mums old jeans are NOW MINE!

I realise this is a bit of a spam having suddenly posted twice in week after being absent for a month. But this was completely necessary because i havent really done a single post just dedicated to fashion yet... and i managed to convince my mum to let me cut up her vintage levi jeans! Wheeee

Im so rapt, they are absolutely perfect condition and fit me perfectly. I dont own any denim in a light blue colour, and i dont own any vintage denim either!
She has two pairs of these and i convinced her to let me cut one pair to make into shorts. They are high waisted, and actually a bit tight :(
Anyway, i decided to raid her closet while i was at it, and so my entire outfit is comprised out of my mums clothes and i dont own any of it... until NOW (ive claimed ownership over all items).
Shes okay with me borrowing her clothes on indefinite loan because she has a new shipment of clothes coming the mail from next week. I introduced her to ASOS, she went nuts (shes too busy to go to the shops) and i thought id made a big mistake. But i realised this could work in my favour... :D I convinced her to get sizes six to eight which means ill be able to wear most of her new clothes hehe (and potentially borrow indefinitely).

Mums precious vintage levi high waisted jeans just underwent the CHOP!

Vintage levis high waisted shorts <3, abercrombie check singlet top thingy, valleygirl white lace vest, flower blazer from i dunno where.
Im not wearing shoes in these photos :P

Theyre a little tight, i dont think i will be able to tuck in any jumpers... geez my mum must have been thin :( or maybe im just putting on tummy fat from all my exam study binge eating
Sometimes clothes stay in my wardrobe for years, unworn, and then one day i find a matching item, and BAM i wear them for the next whole month.
These shorts really couldnt have come at a better time! I cant wait to wear them throughout summer :D

Toolangi

Well well i havent posted in a month.
I blame work and uni entirely for this.
A lot has happened during my absence so im just going to dot point it rather than write it all out. I love dot points.
- had photography club agm
- working at sky music (nothing new)

Okay, so that wasnt alot, but believe me... Those two dot points take up alot of my time.

First exciting news: I got elected President of MPC. Im the first female president ever :) I feel guilty for all the other people who were running for the position too but didnt make the cut because they were all brilliant. But im so excited for all the awesome things i have planned, and having the authority to make them happen!
Im also on the hunt for new photographers that i can introduce to the club. Its a mission. Must find all potential photographers at caulfield and make them join the club. If theres one thing i want more than anything, its making sure that the opportunites and activities/events i organise next year, are known to ALL photography enthusiasts!! (And this means joining the club)
I also gotta mention my new committee of about 10? They are awesome. Im lucky to have such a great committee and i honestly cant wait to work with them next year. Top blokes.

Second exciting thing. Working at Sky Music is awesome. My co worker used to be a touring musician, and he has all sorts of connections, including being "beer drinking buddies" with a guy at Maton guitars! This is brilliant because it so happens that the Maton website needs work, and i am in the market for a Maton Mini guitar. Basically, Henry, my co worker is helping me get a deal with them so i can get my $1.5k guitar in return for a couple days photography for Maton. Is this awesome, or is this awesome??
Ive even put together photos ive taken for Cole Clarke, Gibson usa, Ibanez, peavey, etc.... just in case they ask for my product photography portfolio.

I also got quite a few shoots lined up for after exams! I just gotta make it through exams first...
Shoots being: 2 makeup artists, fashion shoots, glamour shoots, online fashion boutique, fashion blogger, a few musicians and bands... alot of couples wanting couple photoshoots... im excited.

This past weekend i spent out in Toolangi for Matts birthday. I didnt take many photos because, well.... because i was lazy. The photos i did take, i cast lightroom magic over them and they turned out better than i thought. If i knew they would look like this, i would have taken more.

Little fire from day 1
 Birthday boy
 Main house
 Fluffies
Going for a walk in the forest
Strange letterboxes
 Peekaboo

I thought i would be refreshed for the upcoming weeks after this little trip, but not quite...
Also i bought a parasol up in healesville that i was gonna use for one of my shoots... but i left it up there!!! Was kicking myself the whole way home.
